Scope

Counts describe records present in TVmaze, not a complete census. The incomplete current year is excluded from trends.

Trend window

Five-year annual averages for 2011–2015 and 2021–2025; annualised change compares their midpoints. Language growth requires earlier and recent volume thresholds; genre rankings require an earlier fractional average of 20. Small baselines remain volatile.

Cached relationships

Genre and cast links are refreshed when TVmaze marks a show as updated. Older cached rows may still include values removed before relationship replacement was introduced; updated shows are reconciled going forward.

Clean signal

Only direct TVmaze show, people, character, casting, genre and rating tables are queried. Fandom, Google, Twitter/X, MTurk, Reelgood, TVDB, IMDb ratings and third-party images are excluded.

Licence

Derived CSVs and graphics are CC BY-SA 4.0, with TVmaze attribution and changes identified.
